Natural Wood Styles
Real wood flooring comes in two different constructions, both which serve a specific purpose and function. Solid Hardwood Solid hardwood is cut from single solid pieces of hardwood lumber. This allows your floor to be sanded and refinished many times, and last longer than any other floor . One downside to solid wood is that it can expand and contract with fluxuations in your home’s humidity and temperature, making it possible to get crack and buckles over time. Engineered Wood Floors Engineered wood floors are constructed by fusing multiple pieces of wood together. Each of these layers have opposite grains and may also be another type of wood. This makes engineered floors very sturdy and less likely to be affected by temperature and humidity. These floors can be sanded and refinished, but not as much as solid pieces, due to the thinner, multiple layers
