How much does carpet stretching cost?
Unlike Carpet cleaning where we charge by the square foot, carpet stretching is a room price. That price depends on both the size of the room and where the bubbles are in relation to the furniture in the room. The best way for us to price out your job is for you to call and we can arrange to do a FaceTime call if you have an iPhone or a zoom call if you have an android. We will then see exactly what needs to be done and we can price the job out for you.
Why do carpets get bubbles that need to be stretched?
We get this question all the time. There are a variety of reasons that this happens. It could be a poor installation but most of the time it is a simple case of the carpets relaxing over time and humidity is the culprit. I would estimate that 30-50% of carpets end up needing to be stretched over time. When we come out to do your restrech we will first check to make sure the tack strip around the room is down secure. Often we will reinforce it before we stretch your rugs.

Can you fix wrinkled carpet?
Yes some people call them wrinkles others bubbles but either can normally be fixed by stretching
Can you stretch existing carpet?
Yes we can stretch most carpets. Some carpets have become de-laminated and cannot be stretched. When we do a Face Time call with you we can 90% tell if the carpet can be stretched.
Does furniture have to be moved to stretch carpet?
This is the main reason that we like to see the area on a video call before we price the job. Depending on where the bubbles are and the furniture is will determine what does or doesn’t need to be moved. We will also tell you what needs to be cleaned out before we come.
I am not able or comfortable to do a video call what can i do instead?
Take pictures of the bubbles and an overview shot so we can see the whole room’s furniture in relation to the bubbles and send it to info@lehighrug.com and we can work up price in most instances.
What is the right way to stretch a carpet?
Either using a power stretcher or a mini stretcher in conjunction with a knee kicker is the correct way to re-stretch carpet. Using a knee kicker on it’s own will only get you about half the stretch of one of these other methods that we use to ensure your rugs get stretched properly.
Can carpet be stretched more than once?
Yes as long as the carpet is not de-laminated it can be stretched as many times as needed.
Can you patch a spill of bleach or other stains that won't come out with Cleaning
We can patch or repair your carpet if you have extra carpet. We can take from closets to do carpet patching. We can also dye certain stains back to their original color for an extra fee!
Should I have a chair pad for my chairs on carpets?
100% yes. Not having a plastic chair pad will lead to a de-laminated carpet that cannot be fixed.
How much should carpet repair cost?
It depends on the repair needed. There is a minimum for us to send out a technician and many simple patches/repairs can be done for the minimum.
Can you replace just a section of carpet?
Yes we do carpet patching. You would need a piece of carpet big enough to do the repair. We need at least 1×1 foot of carpet to do any patch. If you do not have extra carpet we can take some from a closet or under furniture perhaps.
How much does it cost re-repair a carpet seam.
One seam normally comes in under our minimum and two small seams as well. Give us a call and we will price it out for you.
